Pumpkin Carving

This year was the girls first pumpkin carving experience, at least the first they were participants in. They were super excited as you can tell by Taylor's giddy face below.

Gramps was the main carver of the pumpkins. I did most of one but got tired by the time it came to the mouth. I had also hurt my back the morning of this day so by the time I was done with most of my carving I was in agony from sitting.
The crew taking the lids off, Grammy was the photographer, as usual!
Madeline was not so sure about sticking her hands in the pumpkin at first.
Taylor was hesitant too.
Daddy showing Taylor how it's done.
They each had their own bowl to put seeds in for cooking. We did cook them and Madeline liked eating them, she would eat handfuls at a time. Taylor on the other hand would put some in her mouth chew and then ask to spit them in my hand (I know...lovely... I banned her from eating them after it happened twice).
Each seed, one by one, this might take all day.

Madeline finally decided it was safe to put her hands in.

and then Mommy showed her how to squish the mush, and it was all over...
and then Taylor had to get involved in the action...
The end result! The Wallace's are ready for Halloween!
