Doctors Visit - 27 Weeks

I say it is 27 weeks, but really it is 27 weeks, 3 days. I hit my weekly milestones on Fridays so I always title the blog with the week milestone that has just passed.

We had a doctors visit this morning and my glucose test. Sweets have hurt my stomach the entire pregnancy so I wasn't very happy to have to drink the sugary drink. Luckily it is only about 8 oz and it tasted great, like orange soda, but once it my stomach I wasn't too happy. I got very warm and nauseous but after an hour of waiting they took my blood and I passed by the skin of my teeth. The cut off is 140 and I got a 139. Hooray, I don't have to take the long test or do anything special.

While I was waiting to get my blood drawn I saw Dr. Stephens. She nicely spent the time to listen to all the little aches, pains and weird things that are happening to my body and reassured me that they are all TOTALLY NORMAL. She then listened to the heartbeats which were A - 146 and B - 152. They are still in the same positions as the ultrasound two weeks ago, and Dr. Stephens said they may stay that way for the rest of the time as they are getting bigger and it is harder to move around. They still move and kick a lot which is both exciting, sometimes distracting at work, and makes it hard to fall asleep at night until they are ready. :)

Dr. Stephens also measured my belly and said I was measuring about a month ahead. This is also very normal with twins, but I am glad to hear they are growing well and the doctors are very happy with my progress. She also said I looked great, my weight is great, and keep doing what I am doing. We can thank Stan and my inability to be able to eat sweets and junk food for the good weight. Stan is a really good cook, he really enjoys it (bonus for me), and we are eating pretty healthy so we are both looking good!
