At our 9 month doctors visit they said we should start transitioning to table food over the next 3 months so we have been trying it out slowly. Taylor and Madeline love to feed themselves with their hands and are very happy to goggle down some puffs, mum-mums (baby rice cakes), or what we call baby Cheetos, not the fat but look just like them.
So we decided it was time to start on real food in finger size so this morning they at scrambled eggs by hand and at lunch they got chicken. Taylor, who rejected the eggs the first time we gave them to her a couple weeks ago, gobbled them down like it was sugar and Madeline who couldn't get enough of them before really didn't want anything to do with them. Taylor also seemed to love the chicken at lunch! Madeline has a little bit of a cold so we think it is affecting her appetite because Madeline usually eats anything we put in front of her too.
We have also started to give them their own spoon at meal time. They aren't very adept at it yet, but do like to chew and play with it and sometimes get a little food on there too. It helps us get more food in too without grabbing our spoon.
Here is Taylor enjoying the chicken!Madeline was so tired the other night she held out until the evening bottle then promptly fell asleep in the crook of Daddy's arm. It was only 6:15pm. Good thing we put PJs on before the bottle. :)

James is not diggin' the solids! He was actually doing "okay" before he got a cold. He even ate an entire container of sweet potatoes. Since the cold though he almost gags at the sight of solids! Brad and I are both somewhat picky eaters, so I guess this is payback!
