The girls are doing well.

Thank you to everyone who said a little prayer for the girls and their surgery. Everything went well and they are fast asleep in their beds for the night.

Since we had all the snow and ice here in Raleigh the surgery got pushed back 3 hours from 7am to 10am. We were glad that we didn't have to get up at 5am, but then again the girls still couldn't eat after midnight and there isn't much you can do to explain to 10 month old that you can't eat. We did get the girls up right before midnight and gave them a bottle and then back to bed. That worked to hold them off and we actually didn't have any meltdowns, which I was kind of surprised. There was all the hustle and bustle of nurses and doctors so that kept them entertained. We were the first ones they took back to surgery so fortunately we didn't have to wait long once we got there.

Both girls did great and they went with the nurse, taggie blanket in hand, without even a whimper. Afterward though they were not as happy. They cried in recovery, of course, from being uncomfortable and the affects of the anesthesia, but overall they did very well and calmed down pretty quickly with their bottle. Madeline was so hungry she downed 2 bottles!! Dr. Price said they did wonderfully and they both definitely needed to have the procedure done as there was lots of gooey, "Elmer's glue" like liquid in their ears, but no infections thankfully.

The best part about he tubes is no special care. We only have to put in preventative ear drops for 3 days and see the doctor again in 2 weeks.

Overall, they were just a little more cranky than usual today, but not too bad considering what they went through. The rest of the day went like normal, they drank their bottles without any problems and had waffles and bananas for dinner. :)
