They're on the Move!

Well we were blessed again by the lovely snow this winter in Raleigh. Friday night we got about 3 inches and it looked absolutely beautiful on the trees behind our house in the morning. All was still and hung perfectly. The best part about this snow was it was fluffy beautiful and then promptly melted without any ice. Here are the girls checking our the snow for the warmth of the house. The girls are definitely on the move now. They are crawling all over the place and I think they really enjoy the freedom to roam around their playroom. Since they are definitely proficient in crawling and moving around Stan and I thought it was about time we put the gate up at the top of the stairs. Well...4 gates later we FINALLY found one that fit! With the half wall and molding at the top of the stairs it was a challenge to get one that fit correctly. The stairs were never an attraction to the girls until we put the gate up. Once we put it up they didn't want to leave that area. They would crawl over, pull up and shake it. Hence the picture below. They are now prisoners of the playroom (hee hee)!
They both move around and pull up on everything, their play box, their toys, the gate, the couch. Anything they can pull up on they do. Taylor has also figured out how to roll over and pull herself up in her crib. Taylor is our night owl so now when we put them down to sleep, Madeline goes right to sleep very nicely and Taylor now, rolls over, crawls to the edge, pulls herself up and bounces up and down on her crib mattress. When we go in to see what she is doing she is smiling and giggling and bouncing away. Usually on the second time I lay her back down she decides she is tired and wants to go to sleep. Last night she realized she didn't have to sleep on her back anymore and she has now taken to flipping over and sleeping on her belly. Madeline is still perfectly happy to sleep on her back. If I sit Madeline up in her crib then she will make her way to the side and pull herself up, but she is happy to lay there on her back and laugh at Taylor.

Needless to say they are always keeping us on our toes!!!

Here is Taylor, off to the races!

Madeline thinks Mommy is very funny with the camera.

Hey there! The girls are getting so big! Keep those photos coming. I did want to tell you that James and I have that exact gate (to keep the cats out of the bedroom). It however, had never been "kid tested". Well it got it's first test last week and failed miserably. However, let me say it was a 3 year old and not your sweet babies. The child literally walked up to it and gave it a king kong YANK and pulled it right out of the door frame and proceeded to fall backwards and bonk her head on the wall as the gate came crashing down on her. Not sure if ya'll "bolted" it into the wall there, but ours was not. Just letting you know as they get older and stronger to watch out! :-)I was SHOCKED and No, our house isn't even close to child proof I found out that evening!

The girls has stood up and yanked on it and it has stayed so far, but I am sure as they get older it will become a challange. Hopefully by that time they can go up and down the stairs by themselves. :)

It is a delight to watch the girls learn to navigate their world. It is good they will keep you on your toes. Just think you can still catch them and it does not take the two of you. Well not most of the time. I little longer and they will be chasing Daisy.

Love to you all and thank you It is great to follow the take of the Wallace's
